My name is Malik Mostella, and I am your School Security Officer (SSO) here at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary.  I am retired from the Youngstown Police Department with 25 years of service.  I have worked security for the Youngstown City School District for more than 20 years, and I am the founder of the Lifetime Mentorship Program, which partners with the school district.  Currently, I am a member of the Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team (SWAT), for which I have been a negotiator for the past 16 years.  I am happy to welcome your child to school with a fist bump as they arrive each morning!  Go Defenders!!!

My name is Bruce Palmer, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the Parent Engagement Coordinator at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School. With 32 years of experience in education and coaching in various capacities, I am deeply committed to supporting students, families, and our Youngstown City Schools community. I'm excited and honored to work alongside you to foster a supportive, collaborative environment for our students and families.

My role is to bridge home and school, ensuring your voices are heard and you have access to the resources and information you need. I am here to answer your questions, listen to your concerns, and support you however I can.

Throughout the year, I will be organizing events, workshops, and opportunities for you to get involved in our school community. Your participation and feedback are invaluable, and I look forward to building strong partnerships with each of you.
